Day 1

Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport off your international flight, where, having cleared customs and immigration, and collected your luggage, you will be met in the Arrivals Hall by our Johannesburg representative.  He will be holding a board with your names on it, and will hand you your Nationwide Airways and Air Botswana tickets, and then show you to the check-in counter for your Nationwide Airways flight to Livingstone Airport in Zambia.

There are generally two flights per day to Livingstone Airport:  either flight CE202 departing Johannesburg at 11h20, arriving 12h55, or flight CE2404, departing at 12h15, and arriving at 13h50. You would need to check in for this flight at least 1.5 hours prior to departure time.

After clearing customs and immigration at Livingstone Airport (we will apply for a visa waiver on your behalf), you will be met by a representative of Falcon-safaris, who will transfer you by road to the Zambezi Sun Resort (20 minutes).

This 212 room Resort Hotel is situated on the banks of The Zambezi with views towards the Falls which are a short walk away.  It has the feel of a walled city, centuries old – despite the fact it was only opened a few years ago.

Rooms are low slung and airy overlooking a cool landscaped pool area, while the restaurant and bar are focused around the central pool.The two-storey en-suite rooms have private balconies that welcome the morning sun. Outside, the earth colours are soothing and soft. Inside, the airy rooms are alive with ethnic reds, blues and oranges.

Amenities in the rooms include air-conditioning, satellite TV, fold-out couches, safes and telephones. The central reception area houses a family-friendly , high quality buffet restaurant , a pool bar and a lively alfresco grill and entertainment area.

The Resort complex also features restaurants, tourist shops and a Business Centre.

At the Zambezi Sun Hotel you will be accommodated in a Standard Room with en-suite facilities.  Your breakfasts will be included during your stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure to partake of some of the numerous activities on offer on this side of the Falls.
All activities may be booked directly at the hotel, with their Activities Desk, and will be for your own account.

Day 3

After breakfast, and some more leisure time, a representative of Falcon-safaris will collect you from the hotel’s reception area, and will transfer you by road to the Kazangula border crossing, boat you across the Chobe River, and then drive you on to Chobe Safari Lodge, situated on the banks of the Chobe River, and just outside the gates to the Chobe National Park.  This transfer will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

At the Chobe Safari Lodge you will be allocated a Luxury Safari Room with en-suite facilities and a view over the Chobe River.

After lunch, later in the afternoon, you will go out on a private 2 hour boat cruise on the Chobe River.

Dinner that evening is taken in  the Buffet overlooking the Chobe River.  During your stay at Chobe Safari Lodge your Breakfasts, Terrace Lunches and Dinners are included in your Tour, although drinks should be paid for directly.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will go out on a River Boat Safari cruise on the Chobe River enabling you to view wildlife that congregates at the water’s edge at very close range in all safety.

You will return to the Lodge for a rest during the heat of the day (Chobe Safari Lodge has a swimming pool and sun deck), and in the afternoon you will enjoy a 3 Hour Game Drive in the Chobe National Park.

Day 5

An early morning wake-up call, and then off  ‘on safari’ in the Chobe National Park, home to huge herds of elephant. You will travel in a 4×4 game viewing vehicle with a Guide.

You will return to the Lodge for breakfast, and will then be transferred to Kasane Airport, where you will meet the Pilot who will fly you, in a light aircraft, into Oddballs Camp.  This flight will take around 80 minutes, and will provide you with spectacular views of both the Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta.

On arrival at the Oddballs airstrip you will be met by the Guides who will be looking after you during your stay at Oddballs. (One Guide is assigned to two people for the duration of your stay).

At Oddballs you will be accommodated in a 2mx2m domed tent set on wooden platforms with mattresses, duvets, pillows, and towels. You should bring your own sleeping bags for the Mokoro Trail, or these may be hired from Oddballs at a charge of US$30 per person.  At Oddballs, ablution facilities are shared between 4 tents.

After lunch – (at Oddballs ALL your meals are included in your Tour; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as well as all your teas and coffees, but you will be required to pay for additional drinks), you will go out with your Guide for either a mokoro excursion or a walking safari.

Day 6

You will collect all your camping equipment and a hamper of food (all included in your Tour) and, accompanied by your Guides, will go out on the Mokoro Trial.  Your Guides will find a suitable camping spot on an Falcon in the Okavango Delta, and assist you to set camp, and build a fire. Whilst on the Mokoro Trail your food is provided, but you will be responsible for its preparation.

From your base camp your Guide will take you out on Walking Safaris – truly the only way to go out on safari, enabling you to be ‘at one’ with the environment, and obtain stunning views of both the wildlife and bird life of the Okavango Delta. Your Guide will be happy to track and stalk particular animals that you are interested in seeing.

Day 7

An early morning wake-up, and after some coffee an early morning walk in the Moremi Game Reserve, returning after three hours or so for a hearty breakfast. During the heat of the day you can relax, and then after lunch another excursion by mokoro into the Moremi Game Reserve. Dining by the light of the camp fire under the canopy of the ‘African Sky’ completes your day. If you are particularly energetic you can go out on a longer walking safari taking a picnic breakfast or lunch with you.

Day 8

Another early morning safari, then return to Oddballs for lunch, and a rest before going out again for a mokoro excursion. You may also be interested in visiting the nearby village. Your Guides will be proud to show you their homes and introduce you to their Families, a unique experience, especially if this is your first visit to this part of Africa.

Day 9

An early morning walking safari, breakfast, a rest and then you will return to the airstrip for your charter flight to Maun Airport (20 minutes), where you will connect with Air Botswana, flight BP211, departing Maun at 15h00, and arriving back in Johannesburg at 16h40.
